Iconic 80s band make ‘formal offer’ to be Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding band

Rock veterans Foreigner have thrown their hat into the pop culture ring, cheekily offering to soundtrack what would likely be one of the most-watched weddings of the decade: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s.
In a playful Instagram post, the band wrote directly to the couple:
‘Dear Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, we know what love is. We spent 40 years figuring it out… and now you guys have too. Please accept this as our formal offer to be your wedding band. Best wishes, Foreigner.’
The nod to their 1984 chart-topper I Want to Know What Love Is was hard to miss, and it immediately set off a flurry of fan reactions online, with some cheering the idea and others joking about whether Kelce would be more likely to sing along or start a mosh pit.
Frontman Lou Gramm only pops up occasionally these days, and founding guitarist Mick Jones – who has been quietly battling Parkinson’s since stepping back from live shows in 2023 – hasn’t performed with the group in recent years.
Still, the touring version of Foreigner continues to pack arenas and has been playing their so-called ‘farewell tour’ since 2023, with UK stops scheduled next summer at Manchester’s AO Arena and Wembley Arena.
Of course, should Swift and Kelce say yes, it wouldn’t be the same Foreigner that dominated radio four decades ago
