JUST IN: Grammy Awards 2026: Donald Trump Threatens Trevor Noah With Legal Action Over ‘Epstein Island’ Joke
Trump didn’t just criticize the Grammys — he’s lawyering up.
After calling the show virtually unwatchable, Trump blasted Trevor Noah for making false and defamatory claims about Epstein Island and announced he’s suing for defamation.
When comedians stop doing comedy and start pushing reckless accusations as fact, there are consequences. Free speech doesn’t mean free lies.
Trump says the claims were flat-out wrong, and now the courts will decide.
Donald Trump is threatening Trevor Noah with legal action over a joke the South African comic made about him during this year’s Grammys.
On Sunday night, Noah delivered a string of jibes about the US leader, which became more barbed as the ceremony went on.
Towards the end of the event, he remarked that Song Of The Year is an award “that every artist wants, almost as much as Trump wants Greenland”.
He continued: “[That] makes sense, because Epstein’s island is gone. He needs a new one to hang out with Bill Clinton. So…”
“I told you it was my last year,” Noah then quipped, referring to the fact that the 2026 Grammys was his sixth and final as host. “What are you going to do about it?”
Within hours, Trump had already responded on his own social media platform Truth Social, tearing into the Grammys and suggesting he’d be suing its host.
“The Grammy Awards are the WORST, virtually unwatchable! CBS is lucky not to have this garbage litter their airwaves any longer,” Trump began, before turning his attention to “the host, Trevor Noah, whoever he may be”, claiming he is “almost as bad as Jimmy Kimmel at the Low Ratings Academy Awards”.
“Noah said, INCORRECTLY about me, that Donald Trump and Bill Clinton spent time on Epstein Island,” Trump continued. “WRONG!!! I can’t speak for Bill, but I have never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere close, and until tonight’s false and defamatory, statement, have never been accused [of] being there, not even by the Fake News Media.”
Trump added: “Noah, a total loser, better get his facts straight, and get them straight fast.
“It looks like I’ll be sending my lawyers to sue this poor, pathetic, talentless dope of an M.C., and suing him for plenty [of dollars].”
“Get ready Noah, I’m going to have some fun with you!” he then teased.
Earlier in the evening, Noah poked fun at Trump’s recent meeting with rapper Nicki Minaj, impersonating the US leader and joking that the pair were caught up in a row over which of them as “the biggest ***”.
Later, he claimed he was stepping down as Grammys host after six years to prove he believes “in term limits”.
“I wanted to set an example for anyone who might be watching the show,” he remarked. “Leave when your time is up.”
