Minneapolis ICE shooting live updates: Active-duty soldiers on standby, sources say

President Donald Trump slammed Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Rep. Ilhan Omar on Sunday for opposing ongoing ICE actions in the state — accusing them of trying to distract from alleged massive fraud.

Trump said ICE is removing violent criminals, calling detainees “murderers” and “drug dealers,” and criticized protesters as “thugs,” including “highly paid professional agitators and anarchists.”

“Why is Minnesota fighting this?” Trump asked, before alleging Walz and Omar are attempting to shift attention away from what he called “$18 BILLION+ in fraud” in the state.

👉 While Trump did not provide evidence, the comments come as the Department of Health and Human Services has frozen $10 billion in federal funds across five Democrat-run states — California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, and New York — over allegations of fraudulent child-care programs.

Trump also reiterated that while he has previously threatened to invoke the Insurrection Act, he currently sees no need — but added, “If I needed it, I’d use it.”

Gov. Walz responded earlier this week with a public appeal urging Trump to “turn the temperature down” and stop what he called a “campaign of retribution.”

Neither Walz nor Omar immediately responded to Trump’s latest post.
