Stephen Curry Scores 24 Points to Lead Warriors Past Wizards, 125-112

Washington, D.C. — Stephen Curry made a triumphant return to the Golden State Warriors lineup, scoring 24 points to lead his team to a 125-112 victory over the Washington Wizards on Monday night. The game marked Curry’s first appearance since missing several games due to injury, and he wasted no time showcasing his scoring ability and playmaking skills.

Curry played 34 minutes and contributed in all areas, adding 6 assists and 5 rebounds to his stat line while hitting 8 of his 17 field goal attempts, including 4 of 9 from beyond the three-point arc. His shooting was key in propelling the Warriors to their third straight win.

Golden State’s offensive depth was on full display, as they had five players finish in double figures. Klay Thompson chipped in with 20 points, and Draymond Green was a force on both ends of the court, recording 10 points, 9 assists, and 7 rebounds. Andrew Wiggins also contributed 19 points, while Kevon Looney dominated the boards with 14 rebounds, helping the Warriors to a 45-36 advantage on the glass.

For the Wizards, who have struggled this season, Kristaps Porzingis led the way with a solid 26-point performance, while Bradley Beal added 22 points. However, despite their efforts, Washington could not keep pace with the Warriors’ offensive firepower and depth.

The game was competitive in the first half, with both teams trading leads. However, a strong third-quarter performance from Golden State, led by Curry’s outside shooting and quick ball movement, allowed the Warriors to extend their lead to double digits. Washington battled back in the fourth, but Curry’s timely buckets and the Warriors’ defense helped them hold on for the win.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr praised his star player’s return, noting, “Steph brings a level of energy and playmaking that just elevates the entire team. It was great to see him back out there and playing at such a high level after being out for a few games.”

With the win, Golden State improved to 7-2 on the season, continuing to show their championship pedigree early in the year. The Warriors will look to build on this victory as they head back to the Bay Area for their next game.

For Washington, the loss drops them to 2-6, with concerns mounting around their inconsistent play and inability to close out close games. The Wizards will look to regroup as they prepare for their upcoming road trip.

Key Stats:

Golden State Warriors: Stephen Curry (24 points, 6 assists), Klay Thompson (20 points), Draymond Green (10 points, 9 assists, 7 rebounds), Andrew Wiggins (19 points), Kevon Looney (14 rebounds)
