Taylor Swift Breaks Record, Surpasses Madonna for Most UK Number 1 Albums by a Female Artist.

Taylor Swift has made history once again, surpassing Madonna to become the female artist with the most UK Number 1 albums. Her latest release, Lover (Live From Paris), has secured the top spot on the UK Albums Chart, marking her 13th chart-topping album in the UK.
This live album, which initially came out in 2023 in limited quantities, saw a massive surge in popularity thanks to a special heart-shaped vinyl edition that flew off the shelves. The album sold an impressive 47,000 units in its opening week, with its success largely driven by physical sales. In fact, Lover (Live From Paris) is the first album to claim the Number 1 spot in the UK chart purely from physical sales since Swift’s own Reputation in 2017.
Not only did Taylor break Madonna’s record, but she also tied with Elvis Presley for the most Number 1 albums by an international artist in UK chart history, with 13. The only artists with more Number 1 albums are The Beatles and Robbie Williams, who each have 15.
But the records don’t stop there—Lover (Live From Paris) also set the benchmark for the largest first-week sales for a live album in the UK in over a decade, and it scored the highest total weekly sales for a live vinyl album this century. Swift’s impact on the UK charts continues to grow, solidifying her place as one of the most dominant forces in the music industry.
With this remarkable achievement, Taylor Swift adds another extraordinary milestone to her already impressive career. Whether through her studio albums or live performances, it’s clear that her musical legacy is set in stone, and she shows no signs of slowing down.
