🔥 “All Four Living Ex-Presidents Slam Trump’s Claim He Had ‘Secret Support’ for Iran Strike — Find Out Who He Was Trying to Name!”
Speaking during a meeting of the Kennedy Center’s board on Monday, Trump said, “For 47 years, no president was willing to do what I’m doing…there’s no president that wanted to do it and yet every president knew.”
The president then claimed he had spoken to a “certain president, who I like, actually — a past president — former president…He said, ‘I wish I did it. I wish I did.’ But they didn’t do it. I’m doing it.”
When asked which former president he was talking about, Trump responded: “I can’t tell you that. I don’t want to embarrass him. It would be very bad for his career, even though he’s got no career.”
The president repeated this anecdote while speaking at the Oval Office later on Monday, prompting a reporter to ask him if he was talking about George W. Bush—the only living former Republican President—and Trump said, “No.”
When asked if it was Bill Clinton, Trump refused to answer, noting he doesn’t want to say the name.
Multiple outlets reached out to aides of all four former living presidents, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama and Joe Biden, and all of them denied talking to Trump. NBC News reported that an aide for Bush said the former president and Trump “haven’t been in touch,” while an Obama aide said there had been “no recent conversations” between him and the president. An aide for Clinton said it wasn’t him and an unnamed source told the outlet that the predecessor Trump was referring to was not Biden. The Associated Press also corroborated the report, citing representatives for each of the former presidents, who said none of them had spoken with Trump recently. None of the four living former presidents has commented publicly on the U.S. military action against Iran.
