Terrorist shot dead’ outside synagogue after killing two people

Two people have died and three more are seriously injured after a car was driven into a crowd of people outside of a synagogue in Crumpsall, Greater Manchester.
Greater Manchester Police were called to the scene at Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue at 9.31am and declared a major incident six minutes after.
Two victims have now been confirmed dead.
A third man, believed to be the offender, is also believed to be dead but ‘cannot currently be confirmed due to safety issues surround suspicious items on his person’.
The bomb disposal unit is now at the scene.
Four hospitals in the area -Royal Oldham Hospital, Rochdale Infirmary, Fairfield General and Salford Royal – have confirmed to Metro they are all in lockdown over the incident but have yet to outline the details as to why.
Streets surrounding the synagogue have been cordoned off with more police cars and vans, sirens blaring, racing down neighbouring roads.
The incident has taken place during Yom Kippur, the holiest day in Judaism and often referred to as the Day of Atonement.
