Shocking New Website Demands Barron Trump Be Drafted — Happened Exactly as the U.S. and Israel Struck Iran! Click to See Why
A website calling for President Donald Trump’s youngest son, Barron Trump, who is 19, to be drafted into the U.S. military was created, as the U.S. and Israel launched strikes on Iran.
The website “DraftBarronTrump.com” was created on February 28, the same day that the U.S. and Israel launched strikes on Iran, according to domain records. The language on the website employs a largely satirical tone, with false quotes attributed to members of the Trump family.
Newsweek has contacted the White House via email and DraftBarronTrump.com via an online contact form on the website, outside of regular working hours.
Why It Matters
Early on Saturday, the U.S. and Israel launched strikes on Iran, in a military operation dubbed Operation Epic Fury. The move signals a sharp escalation and follows Washington and Tehran failing to achieve an agreement on Iran’s nuclear problem.
Americans have largely remained divided along partisan lines in the past on issues involving Trump and Iran. A poll published on Sunday from Reuters/Ipsos found that one in four Americans supports the strikes, with about half of respondents believing that Trump is too willing to use military force.
The DraftBarronTrump website states on its “About Us” page that the “site is dedicated to honoring the strongest and bravest voices in war,” and “If you’re looking for proven genes, inherited courage, and unquestionable resolve, look no further than the Trump family.”
False quotes feature on the website and are attributed to the president, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump. The false quote from the president reads, “People come up to me, with tears in their eyes, and they say, ‘Sir, you’re the strongest. Send Barron off to war.’”
The president has three sons—Donald Jr., 48, Eric, 42, and Barron, 19— as well as two daughters—Ivanka, 44, and Tiffany, 32.
Almost all men who are aged between 18 and 25 who live in the U.S. are required to register for Selective Service, though service itself is voluntary. Those in that age group who live in the U.S. are required, including citizens, immigrants, refugees, asylum seekers and those with disabilities.
The U.S. has not had a military draft since 1973. A draft would need to be authorized by both the president and Congress.
The age groups for military drafts have varied in different conflicts. During World War I, the law authorized a draft of men aged 21-30. It was later expanded to ages 18 to 45. During World War II, the draft was expanded to the ages of 18 to 64—though men over the age of 45 generally were not used for combat roles.
Several presidents have had sons who have served in the U.S. military. This includes Theodore Roosevelt Jr., son of President Theodore Roosevelt. who served in World Wars I and II, after his father left office. Roosevelt’s son Quentin Roosevelt also served as a pilot in WWI and was killed in action. President Dwight Eisenhower’s son John Eisenhower served in WWII and Korea. President Joe Biden’s son, Beau Biden, served in Iraq, prior to his father’s presidency.
Trump has in the past faced criticism for his medical deferment from the Vietnam War draft, which he attributed to bone spurs in his heels.
Iran condemned the U.S.-Israeli action as unprovoked and illegal. Iran has launched retaliatory attacks on Israel and Gulf Arab countries, with Iran’s Revolutionary Guard announcing a “large-scale” attack after the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
On Sunday, the U.S. Central Command said that three American service members were killed, and five others were wounded in Operation Epic Fury. Trump told NBC News on Sunday, “We expect casualties with something like this,” and added that “in the end it’s going to be a great deal for the world.”
America is strong because its leaders are strong. President Trump proves that every day. Naturally, his son Barron is more than ready to defend the country his father so boldly commands. Service is honor. Strength is inherited. Dog Bless Barron.”
Trump has called for regime change and told Iranians: “When we are finished, take over your government.” The president’s public signals on how long the conflict will last range between a rapid wrap-up to a monthlong campaign.
