Heavenly Father, our nation is grieving.

Lord, be near to every mother and father whose heart feels shattered. Strengthen the husband or wife who must now walk forward with an empty space beside them. Hold the children, the brothers, the sisters, and the friends who are trying to understand a loss that feels unbearable.

When the shock fades and reality settles in, be their strength.
When the quiet becomes overwhelming, be their comfort.
When anger, sorrow, and questions rise, be their peace.

These were not just service members. They were someone’s whole world. They were loved deeply. They were needed. They mattered.

Father, we also pray for every American service member still in harm’s way. Stand between them and danger. Shield them. Guide them. Bring them home safely to the families praying for their return.
